Hi! I’m Dr. Manson

I’m happy to meet you. I’m a pediatric dentist and the founder of Bristle Pediatric Dental.  But most importantly, I’m a mother of young children. With my husband being a functional medicine physician, and our family life truly embodying the lifestyle, I felt it was time to bring it to a pediatric dental practice.

I have worked all over the country and spent most of my career working with the Indian Health Council. Working with this population taught me about herbal remedies and how to take a root-cause approach.  to help take this load off of our community of kids and families, dentists, and urgent cares. Our hope is to normalize prevention, early care, airway-screenings, and offer real and lasting alternatives to dental sedation for children when possible.

My biggest goal is that your child has a healthy mouth and a positive and long-term relationship with their dentist. Dental health is whole-body health and I care a lot about prevention of disease. While I value anesthesia for dentistry as a tool, I only recommend it when it is necessary and the benefit outweighs the risk.

Ok, so here’s her story…

Dr. Manson is married with 2 children. Her husband, Dr. Lon, is a physician who practices functional medicine. Dr. Manson grew up in Florida, and for many years worked in private practice and at the Indian Health Council in San Diego, CA. There she provided high quality, comprehensive care to an underserved population of children. Much of this care was done under oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia, due to the extensive dental needs. These experiences have positively shaped her decision-making, surgical skills, and ability to treatment plan effectively. She also has a strong interest in the diets of children, growth and development, and will help guide you in dental product choices with clean ingredients and food choices that are dental (and whole-body) friendly.

And now for the fancy stuff…

Dr. Marian Iskander Manson has degrees from the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern. She then completed a 1- year AEGD residency at the Miami VA, followed by practicing as a general dentist for 3 years. Her passion was in treating children, so she was elated when she matched for pediatric dental residency at The University of Tennessee in Memphis, home of the infamous St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. It was at these two hospitals that Dr. Manson received extensive training in all aspects of pediatric dentistry, including advanced training in medically complex patients, pediatric sedation, and anesthesia.

She received an MDS degree from this University after a successful defense of her thesis in dental trauma.

She is board certified pediatric dentist and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is currently enrolled in the first cohort of the Institute of Functional Dentistry and is on track to obtain certification as a functional dentistry.
