Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve got questions and we’ve got answers.

  • No, although Apollo Surgery center is contracted with all insurances, Medicaid now requires you to see a provider and surgery center that are both contracted with your insurance in order to be seen. So you will need to contact your medicaid provider to find someone who can help you.

  • No! We have a pediatric dentist and general dentist on staff. So we are now seeing teenagers with complex needs and adults with anxiety or special needs as well.

  • Absolutely. Each case will need to be screened for safety by our anesthesia team. There will be some medical conditions that will be recommended to be treated in a hospital setting instead of a surgery center. Please contact our office and we can help guide you.

  • No:) We have created Sleepy Teeth to be a support to our community of dentists and their patients. We are here to address your child’s major dental needs with the help of an anesthesiologist, and once that work is completed, we will refer your child back to their dental home. If you don’t have a dental home, we will be happy to help you find one. But, you can always stop by and say hello:)

  • Always. We are a family-owned company and will wait for the right fit.

Please email us at hello@sleepyteeth.dental if you are interested in working with us.

  • Yes, typically when a child is under anesthesia, we limit it to one visit and complete all necessary dental work.

For our adults with special needs, it may take 2 visits under anesthesia to complete the necessary work.

  • Most children will have already been pre-screened for safety and need. If our pediatric dentist feels that the risk of sedation outweighs the benefit, she will discuss other routes and possibilities, and help guide you to a dental home that can support that.

  • Most patients will have found us naturally by way of referral from a primary care physician or a dentist. But, if you don’t have a referral, our pediatric dentist will screen you and determine if our care is appropriate for you.

If you’ve been told you need sedation and would like our opinion, you can contact us via email or by phone to review your case with us.

  • Yes, the surgery center can bill all medical insurances they have contracts with except medicaid. For the dental portion, we can help you determine if you have out of network benefits.

  • The surgery center and anesthesia side is in network with all major insurances. If you have medicaid, however, we are unable to treat you through Sleepy Teeth. Please contact your medicaid representative to help you locate a dental provider that is contracted and has access to a surgery center/hospital.

Contact us, and once we understand your child’s needs, we can get an estimate for you.
